Poultry fields

Five fields that raise chicks, keep 2,073,600 layer hens and can produce more than 600 million fresh eggs a year.

Five poultry fields

Our poultry project has five fields. Two rearing fields raise chicks until they are 100 days old, and three production fields then keep them as layer hens until they reach 630 days.

Together the fields have room for 756,864 chicks and 2,073,600 layer hens, and they can produce more than 600 million fresh eggs a year. We consider it one of the largest strategic poultry projects in Iraq and the Middle East, and it makes us Iraq's second-largest poultry operation.

From chick to egg

The project follows one route: chicks are reared, moved at 100 days, and kept as layer hens until 630 days old. Each figure is a capacity the company publishes, with the multiplication written out.

Rearing

Day 0–100

Each of the two rearing fields has six poultry houses. Every house holds 2,336 cages with 27 chicks in each cage, so one field has room for 378,432 chicks.

Transfer

Day 100

When the chicks are 100 days old, we move them from the rearing fields to the production fields. They stay there as layer hens until they are 630 days old.

Egg production

Day 100–630

Each of the three production fields has six poultry houses with 14,400 layer cages per house. Every cage holds eight hens, so one field houses 691,200 layer hens.

Fresh eggs

Every year

At full capacity, the production fields can produce more than 600 million fresh eggs a year. Eggs leave the cages on collection belts and are packed onto trays in the packing hall.
